This morning, we woke up rushed out the door realizing that our train was coming sooner then we had expected. The train was scheduled to go from Brussels to Zurich, Switzerland, and was suppose to take only 3 hours till we arrive.
The city was absolutely gorgeous. Along the way, we came across a lonely umbrella on the sidewalk, and because we went through enough broken umbrellas ourselves...from all the weather conditions in Amsterdam, and Belgium, we picked it up and took it everywhere.
You know in Paris, how there is a famous bridge for "love locks" to write your name and special lover, and leave it locked to the bridge. Well in Zurich, they have the same type of bridge. It was lovely walking across it, and the experience was very nostalgic.
After some exploration, we decided to meet with our host, who was very close to the downtown. The streetcar went straight to the stop "Tuffenwise", we crossed this beautiful bridge and finally arrived to meet Paola. My immediate impression of her was "wow, this lady is very welcoming and even wanted to make sure I wasn't hungry from the long journey". Paola also had a lovely daughter and a cat!
Later in the evening, Marcos, Paola and I had a lovely fish dinner and we called it in for the night, for a fresh start the next day.
In the morning, we explored more spots, took some pictures and walked into some warm bake and souvenir shops. The main street for shopping was located on Bahnoff, which had the best selection of stores and "SALES". I came across the Bata Shoe store, and picked up genuine-leather chelsea boot in black, and a bright-blue wedge for the Summer.
Other than the shopping, the views were spectacular, the people were quiet but friendly, and the chocolate was...wow!
I have some more spots in Switzerland to add for my bucket-list that include... Geneva, St.Mortz, and St.Tropez.
