Exploring Rome's Contemporary Art Districts

Explore the city of Rome's vibrant art districts, in one of the most unique neighbourhood spots located in Ostiense. Take a look at some of the most artistic and hidden talents throughout this historical Roman city.

Ostiense District

This area is unique in many different aspects. One reason is because it's old, run down but also has this grunge, non-touristic, relaxed and cool vibe. It’s a great place to take a walk just meters from the Pyramid Metro station. I actually live right around the corner from this neighbourhood, and I was pleasantly surprised to find it worth exploring.

In each design concept, my guess would be that the creators designed the art through emotion. The best style of art in opinion, is vibrant, filled with life and with incredible details. Sometimes people may not understand the true meaning underneath, and sometimes its difficult to know the truth or story behind it, but that’s okay.

One of my favourite design concepts, was this brightly coloured warehouse. I was told it was transformed into a bold and unique "landmark" most locals pass each day, and is currently a non-profit organization focused on rehabilitation in the Roman community. The best part about this design is the creative idea with the windows transformed into eyes. The details are mesmerizing.
